The slim, smoothly stylish Nokia 6555 offers high-speed 3G network connectivity for streaming video and music. The Nokia 6555 can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T's 3G mobile broadband data network, which is available in most major metropolitan areas. The AT&T 3G network uses the WCDMA 850/1900 network, making it possible to enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless services with speeds up to 3.6 Mbps. It also gives AT&T the advantage of offering simultaneous voice and data services. In areas where the 3G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. Providing average data speeds between 75-135Kbps, it's fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services, including video and music clips, full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go.

With 3G connectivity, you'll be able to access AT&T's Cellular Video (CV) service and the Internet while on the go. Cellular Video features content from CNN, The Weather Channel, iFilm, Comedy Central and exclusive premium content from HBO and much more. It also features AT&T Mobile Music, which provides access to Napster and eMusic subscription services as well as Music ID song-recognition software, music videos and The Buzz music news portal. The handset is XM Radio Mobile-capable, so you can enjoy streaming live digital radio as well. (An AT&T MEdia Max subscription bundle is recommended for accessing AT&T's Internet, video, and music services.)

The dedicated AT&T MEdia Net key provides an immediate connection to the best Internet content, ranging from financial news and sports scores to movie times and reviews or the latest ringtones and mobile games. What Customers Say About Nokia 6555 Red Phone (AT&T):

My phone has never shut off by itself. This phone is small but long, which I like. My phone's mini screen goes dark after only 10 seconds. Love the way I can program the keys to do what I want.

This is the best Nokia I have ever owned. The screens are bright and the pictures crisp. My #1 & #7 keys do not turn the phone off, I have them set for speed dial and use them everyday. Full of features, works very well.

The battery life on a charge is an issue. I like this phone so much, I am on this site looking for a new one for the day in the future when this one no longer works. I have had this phone for 2 years now and have never experienced any of the multitude of issues in these reviews. It has a solid feel to it.

Also, I agree the battery life is not as great as my phones have been in the past. It will shut down in the middle of typing a text. Aggravating. Meaning if I flip open the phone and start typing away, it tends to shut down because it needs a minute to realize I need it to do something.

I love the phone.when I don't have to use it. If I power it up completely then go into a multi-hour concert or day trip, I have to be frugal with my usage because it will reach a low battery level before you know it. This has never happened with any other phone I have owned. I made a 911 call at the scene of an accident where someone was injured and it shut down in the middle of the conversation.

Like today, I had to retype a text 3 times in a row for this reason. I've had Nokia phones since 2000 and this one is a big disappointment. It shut down another time during an important conversation with a customer service rep (you know those calls- where you have to wait 10 minutes before someone comes on) so I had to call back. The best reason I've come up with is that I am faster than the phone.

The phone shuts off randomly because of the extremely poor design of the battery housing. I did this two weeks ago and I haven't had a random shut down since.I'm looking forward to replacing this piece of junk soon, but until then I can at least rest easily knowing that the phone won't randomly shut down on me for no reason. I don't know that I need to repeat what others have already stated - the phone is absolutely horrendous. The battery is too loose and simple actions like opening the phone - or even the vibrate feature activating - cause it to shut off.I fixed this by taking a kleenex, tearing a chunk of it out and using it to wedge the battery into place so that it wouldn't constantly slip away from the contacts. Unless, of course, one counts the miniscule battery and battery meter that doesn't even get close to what's actually remaining. Constant dropped calls, random shut offs, bulky form factor, you name it. Nokia should be ashamed to manufacture this device and AT&T should be ashamed to market it.BUT, I do believe that I have fixed the stupid random shut offs.

They've got all bases covered - it just that they're all now bad. So what's the benefit here.7) Found one decent (I think) piece of software available from Nokias application software site. Even with the "fix" of turning off network connectivity until network connection made it's bad. Non-intuitive, and options are hard to decode. Will keep it brief:1) Terrible battery life. AT&T will tell you things are fine and show how to do the fix and then say you will be happy. Loaded software from vendor. I have owned several Nokias.

DON'T BELIEVE THEM.2) Backlight turns off immediately to save power. Takes forever to get to what you want.5) Support is horrible. Asked for help - no answer. Tried to redownload myself - got error message. You cant even read the phone in daylight. The first I would rate first class, but things have been going downhill steadily. At first I would own nothing but a Nokia, but this is my last Nokia.Would rate this phone a negative if I could. Asked for help - no response. This is my last Nokia.

Purchased it, but software was not downloaded. Takes days to get a bad answer.6) Lack of software other than games, themes, ringtones. Why - to save power.3) Abysmal screen. Bad hardware, bad software, bad support, lack of software.

Found that key to software was supposed to be on invoice - it isn't. How can a company go from the best to the worst in such a short time. It didn't find my GPS. Nokia support has gotten terrible as well.

Asked for a re-download - no answer. With backlight problem it's worse than abysmal.4) Terrible, terrible menus. I carry an extra battery. This can't be changed.

The warranty replacement is better but still has poor sound quality and a horrible display. My wife's phone died totally (just out of warranty of course) and both phones have had to have the batteries and chargers replaced (not covered by warranty of course). My wife and I both got the Nokia 6555 when we switched to ATT. Please, do not buy this phone. I would never recommend this phone to anyone. Both phones have had miserable battery life and various other problems. My phone's screen started to scramble and the response to key's being pressed would exhibit delays up to 10 sec.
